Worst Day Ever

Man, today was just a disaster/the pits/an absolute nightmare. It started with me sleeping through my alarm/missing the bus/getting drenched in rain and only got worse/went downhill from there/became more unbearable as the day went on. I tripped and fell/spilled coffee all over myself/forgot my lunch, then my car wouldn't start/the computer crashed/I got stuck in traffic. To top it all off, I lost my keys/someone stole my wallet/I got food poisoning. I swear, this day was like a cosmic joke at my expense.

Rock bottom

At the bottom of the barrel, you're facing a real nasty situation. It's hard to see when you're constantly falling behind. It feels like everyone else has it better organized and you're just stuck treading water. You might be tempted to give up, but remember, even at the worst possible moment, there's always a spark of hope.
